Come see what artists produce outside of the usual fine art mediums. May brings our most eclectic and exciting exhibition: Expanded Media.This show is all about versatility. From fiber arts and sculpture to digital prints and photography, Exhibition will be hanging May 8th through June 4th. Enjoy a preview of the show.
June Juried Show
Registration is now open for our June art show! This juried exhibition welcomes artists of all backgrounds, with an optional summer-inspired theme: Summer Sol.

Join us for our June meeting — and bring your curiosity! Artist Cindy Cotner will treat attendees to a live calligraphy demonstration, showing the tools, techniques, and creative possibilities of this beautiful art form. Watch as letterforms come to life and discover how calligraphy can enrich your own artistic practice . This is a free demonstration open to all. Come see if calligraphy sparks something new in you.

Cindy Cotner
Cynthia (Cindy) Cotner, a resident of La Mesa, California, integrates abstract forms, original poetry, and intuitive mark-making to explore repetition, deconstruction, and assemblage. Through a combination of painting, calligraphy, and collage techniques, her work examines spiritual and visionary questions regarding the meaning of life.
People's Choice
Member Dottie Thompson-Hayes won the Peoples Choice award for April for her colorful fish painting, Grumpy.

Join us in bringing art to the community! From April through September, we host a booth at the La Mesa Farmers Market alongside a concurrent reception at the gallery. As a non-profit, we rely on member volunteers to help with artist demonstrations at the market and gallery hosting. Your support is vital to our mission of keeping the arts accessible in La Mesa.
