“A Reflection of Her Love for Nature”
Sandra’s oil paintings reflect her love for nature—God’s creation and handiwork. The sheer beauty of nature drove her to capture its ever-changing moods on canvas. Such views as a soft meadow on a spring morning, a silhouette of trees at dusk or a meandering garden pathway drew her to interpret them in paint. Although she had worked in other mediums (including pastel, colored pencil, and charcoal) her preference became to work exclusively in oil. The “feel” of applying paint to the canvas, the freedom of blend-ability, its texture and luster all contribute to the allure of oil paint. Working in stages and layers of application allow for the effects that she desired. She strived to convey a sense of beauty, sensitivity, and serenity in my interpretation of nature, and was pleased when others sensed these feelings in her paintings. Bringing happiness to others through her work and teaching was a source of pure joy to her. Painting became an integral part of her life… …she painted because she “…could not imagine not painting!” We are so glad that she did, and this is your chance to own a bit of her talent and legacy.
