WELCOME TO OUR ART SHOW ENTRY PAGE
Our February show and is open to Foothills members and does not require fees. This month we encourage you to copy an “Old Master”; something at least 100 years old. Because it is a copy you must add “d’apres + original artists name” to your own signature.
Bring your art to the gallery on Thursday, 2 February 11:00 – 2:00. You may submit up to 4 pieces and standard rules apply which are listed below. The following pages will lead you to the registration. You may also register in person at the gallery on take-in day. Here you will be directed to list the works to be submitted online. FOOTHILLS ART ASSOCIATION STANDING RULES FOR EXHIBITS
Media: Oil, acrylic. pastel. watercolor. scratchboard, graphics (etchings, wood, and line-block prints). serigraphs. pencil, pen & ink (the Exhibits department will be the final judge as to the acceptability.)
Size: Maximum limit = 1,435 sq. in. framed, 10 square feet, about 32″ x 42″
No Craft, 3-D art or Photography: Crafts including metal-work, leather-work, rock-work, glass-work, fiber-work, paper sculpture, and ceramics. The Exhibits department will be the final judge as to the acceptability of all media, including mixed media work employing one or more of the aforementioned craft media.
Nudes must be in good taste, suitable for viewing by tile general public. The Exhibits department will be the final judge as to the acceptability.
All artworks must be framed (gallery wrapped canvas with painted edges is acceptable) and ready for hanging with D-rings and wire. Sharp wire ends must be taped. For artwork requiring glass larger than 18″x24″, Plexiglas is recommended.
All two dimensional works must be done by the artist. All artwork must be original. All artwork must have been done within the last two years at the time of entry. Any piece of artwork that has previously won a cash or merchandise award from our Foothills Gallery cannot be resubmitted to another cash/merchandise show.
Artwork must have an entry form attached to the back on the lower right hand corner with the following information: name, phone, address, title. medium and price. NFS (not for sale) is not acceptable, Artwork must be priced for sale (Featured Artist is the exception).
No painting may be removed from the show unless approved by the Exhibits chairman who will notify Host/ Hostess. It must then be replaced by one of the same size. No painting is to be removed during judged or juried shows.
No painting will be accepted on hanging day.
A record of the number of times a person hangs in the gallery will be kept by the Exhibits Department chairman to determine eligibility for all entries for juried shows.
The Hanging Committee reserves the right to restrict the number of paintings displayed. Any artwork registered for the monthly shows will count toward the required hangings for juried shows whether the artwork is actually displayed.
In order to make the take-in process easier for all please add the following information to the back of your paintings BEFORE bringing them to the gallery on take-in day. It can be on paper, an index card or whatever you have that will work for you. Just tape to the back of your paintings . Please write>> Artist Name, Title of the Piece, Medium, Phone Number, Price
